MAKEUP POST: PLAYING WITH COLOURS

So for the benefit of everyone who asked how I did it, I decided to do a blog post on this look I created a while back. I posted pics on Instagram and BBM. This look was actually for a giveaway competition. I played with these colours as part of the rules of the game. Yellow, purple, ice blue and shades of pink all on one face. Lol. So, I'll just give a step by step description of how I created this look.


 
  • Moisturized my face and applied my foundation (no face primer)
  • Filled my brows with a random pencil (no concealer for definition)
  • Primed my eyes with an eyeshadow base and used a brown matte eyeshadow from the Sleek Storm palette as my crease/transition colour.
  • Using a flat synthetic brush I applied the yellow shade from the Tara Margaret Ekpo Palette to my lids.
  • Then I also applied the purple shade from the same palette to the outer corner of my lids and blended it in with the yellow shade.
  • Applied a bright sparkly gold shade from the Sleek Storm Palette to my tear duct and blended in as well. Blended everything with a big blending brush to get rid of harsh lines.
  • Used the Sleek Eye Dust in Jet Blue for my lower lash line. Its very pigmented so i didn't need to apply a primer there. I did this using a pencil brush. 
  • Lined my water-line with a random kajal, lined my upper line with an eyeliner and applied several coats of mascara to my lashes (no false lashes)
  • Highlighted my face with a bit of concealer and applied blush to my cheeks. Note that I also used this for a bit of contouring.
  • Lined my lips with a pink lip pencil and used the Barry M lipstick in Baby Pink in the center of my lips for the ombre effect.
  • Finished the whole look off by applying powder to my face with a powder brush.

Random eyeliner and kajal
Maybelline Colossal Volume Express Mascara- £7.19 (purchased from Boots, you can find this on Jumia as well)

Lips
Tara Lip pencil in Adere- NGN575 on Jumia.
Barry M Lipstick in Baby Pink- NGN1,200
