ANKARA GONE RETRO

14:14

One thing I haven't really done is merging two different colours and patterns of ankara into one outfit. So I decided to step out of my comfort zone a bit and see how it turns out. I'm pleasantly surprised that it looks this good. I can't emphasize enough about how fashion should be fun. Play with it!
Don't get stuck up in what you are already so used to. You'll be shocked out how many new combinations you can achieve with those 'see-finish' items in your closet. This pair of pants is something I have had for quite a while. It actually has a matching top but I ditched it for this look and paired it with this retro blouse from The Naija Thrift Store. I particularly love the lace and pearl detailing on the collar. I have a couple of spare ankara fabrics so I used one of them for my turban and I just love it. Check out my turban tutorial here

I'm inspired to do an ankara inspired makeup tutorial. Let me know if this is something you'll love to see.
