TOP FAVOURITES JAN-MARCH 2015

14:20

I remember saying when the year began that I will be introducing a few series to the blog. Today, we begin another of them. Every quarter, I will be dishing out my top favourite beauty products, fashion items e.t.c as the case may be.
So today, I 'm giving you info on my top six favourites for the first quarter of the year. PS: I'm proud of my photography skills in this post. I should have watermarked these photos but naa...its alright.

1. Beauty Formulas Cleansing Facial Wipes

I'm hooked on this brand of facial wipes, I tell you. Prior to this discovery, I would normally use baby wipes to take off my makeup (yes I confess, I was doing that) before rinsing off my face with warm water. But I just couldn't deal, the wipes were too harsh for my skin. I stumbled on this brand at H-Medix and I picked up two packs, one in Apricot and one in Cucumber. By the time I was done using both, I decided to settle for the Cucumber as I loved the refreshing scent so I repurchased. The formula is really mild and gentle so I suggest you ditch those baby 'bumbum' wipes and get one of these. Each pack contains 30 wipes which could last you about a month if you use judiciously.

Where to buy: H-Medix if you are in Abuja OR Shoprite because I've seen some products from Beauty Formulas there.
Price: NGN700.

2. Maybelline Colossal Volume Express Mascara

Okay, a moment of silence for this baby...When I picked up this mascara at Boots on my last trip to the UK, I didn't think I would love it as much. I basically just wanted an extra mascara in my makeup stash. Imagine my shock the first day I used it. This mascara is all shades of amazing. Naturally, I don't have long lashes but when I use this, it just makes it fuller and longer with no clumping at all. And that wand, omg!, seperates my lashes nicely. When it drys, it doesn't make your lashes hard like most mascaras, it is still as soft as ever. Apply two to three coats for maximum results. Jumia now stocks a few Maybelline products but bear in mind that this particular mascara is different from The Colossal Smokey Mascara.

Where to buy: Jumia. Click here
Price: Got mine for £7.19 at Boots

3. Milani Baked Bronzer

Now, I'm not into harsh contouring when applying my makeup but I was on the hunt for a nice bronzer I could use in emphasizing some basic points on my face mildly. I came across this one in a new store and immediately I saw MILANI, my eyes almost popped out of the sockets. I just had to have it knowing how pigmented their products are. This one is in the shade 06 Golden and i fell helplessly in love at first stroke. Super duper amazing and very blendable too.

Where to buy: Passion Trust Cosmetics, Wuse 2, Abuja. I sincerely don't know anywhere else in Nigeria you can get this.
Price: NGN2,200.

4. Elf Baked Highlighter in Moonlight Pearls

This highlighter goes so well with my skintone. It is a beautiful champagne colour and is so pigmented. For an Elf product I was pleasantly surprised. I use this to add a pretty glow to the highest points of my cheeks and I really love it. If you have darker skin, this might be a bit tricky for you to use and I'll suggest something with more of a brown undertone. This works perfectly for me and I have to resist using it every single day.

Where to buy: BeautyBoon. Click here
Price: NGN1,500

5. Zaron Lipstick in Lunar

I stumbled on this lipstick by chance as I was not even looking to buy any makeup products that day, One swipe was all the convincing I needed. This shade of pink is just beautiful and I just reach for it when I want a perfect pink lip. It is the perfect dupe of the MAC Flat Out Fabulous. The way it looks in the tube is a bit different from how it looks when you wear it. Its supposedly matte but its not drying at all. It swipes on pretty easily. Pick up a tube and try it out.

Where to buy: BeautyKink. Click here or check any Zaron outlet near you.
Price: NGN1,600

6. Spotted black ankle sandals.

Sometime last year I was looking for a pair of black sandals that I could rock with almost anything. I was browsing on Konga one of those days and these babies caught my eye. For such an amazing price, I couldn't resist. I rock them with dresses, jeans, shorts, pencil skirts, you name it. It goes with almost anything and the height of the heels are so comfortable. Definately one of my favourite things this quarter.

Where to buy: Konga. Currently sold out. Similar here
Price:NGN5,700
